Council of Marine Carriers Economic Impact Assessment of the Coastal Tug and Tow Industry on the Provincial Economy
The Council of Marine Carriers (CMC) retained TyPlan Consulting to undertake an economic impact study of the CMC member firms on the provincial economy. Based on the CMC membership rooster, all firms involved in waterborne commercial marine navigation and construction were identified, the number of employees and revenues were determined via a third-party review of published information. Follow-up discussions with CMC executives regarding the reasonableness of the assumptions were confirmed. Utilizing an Input-Output Model (Ms. Lillian Hallin), the direct, indirect and induced benefits of the Industry on the provincial economy were determined.
